Novelties
We believe that Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness offers a number of truly unique aspects (or novelties as we call them) for CRPG fans. A few of them are discussed below.

Greed

Whenever a creature acts greedily in Isilmerald, the power of Zornilsa, the goddess of greed, grows. Your actions are no exception, so keep this in mind when controlling your party! (rewards, looting, donations in temples etc.) As Zornilsa gets stronger, the kingdom becomes even more chaotic directly affecting gameplay. For example:
  • Prices go up as merchants lose interest in keeping a stable marketplace
  • NPCs become more suspicious and unfriendly, making positive interactions more difficult
  • Lawful citizens may end up as desperate outlaws prone to attacking without provocation
  • Loot Scavengers and hostile adventurer parties may appear after battles and attempt to seize your loot
Hold tight to your money sacks—Greed shall infest us all!

A new thief skill: Plant Item

This is basically the opposite of stealing or pickpocketing! It allows the Thief to silently plant certain items into the clothing of other characters. For example, the Thief can hide poisonous or sleeping powder under the armor of guards, which will start to affect them after a designated amount of time. A more interesting example, your Thief character can steal jewelry from an NPC, hide it in the pockets of another NPC and then accuse him of stealing! These types of scenarios can instigate a conflict between two NPCs giving the thief a much greater influence in the game.

Drying to make powders

While brewing allows you to create potions, the process of drying allows the player to create powders. You can use powders directly as an attack in combat or for non-combat purposes. For example, powders can be put directly on the skin of creatures by using the Plant Item skill.

The Pendulum

A unique way to acquire optional subquests. You can always see the current position of the Pendulum on the world map.

Scapegoat Golems

Actually, this is a quest-specific creature type in the Valley of Singing Trees, so we won’t reveal its story here!

Dreams of the Green Mother

At night, there is a chance that the goddess of nature, Tilindia (the Green Mother), is currently dreaming. If you are in a wilderness area at night and you have a Druid in your party, he or she may dream with the Green Mother. This will result in a new subquest challenge, which you can complete to get a reward (such as a unique Druid item or a special ability). The relevant console text is: “Green Mother is dreaming... Challenge imminent!"

Featured spell: Adaptive Shapeshift

When this high-level spell is cast, the character takes the shape of a powerful creature. From now on, whenever the caster starts to suffer from a harmful condition (such as repeated cold damage, or low HP), he/she automatically changes shape again to a creature that is the most beneficial in the situation. For example, if your character is hit by cold damage three times in a row, you may change to a Frost Giant, highly resistant to such attacks. If your character’s HP becomes low, you may take the shape of a Forest Troll to gain a high health regeneration rate. If both conditions (frequent cold damage, low HP) are present, the caster may be transformed into an Ice Troll, which offers a good balance of regeneration and cold resistance (but it will have a weaker attack than a Frost Giant or Forest Troll).

CrossSave support

This allows you to continue a saved game on a different platform. For example, you can save the game on your PC before leaving your home, and then continue playing somewhere else with your laptop!
